SLS 3D printing is the choice when you need perfromance parts and prototypes. Good for both prototyping in production like materials for real world testing, and also for production quality parts. SLS is a great choice for many industries and applications.
Selective laser sintering is a powder bed fusion (PBF) technology. SLS uses a high-powered laser to sinter powdered material, binding it together to create parts layer by layer. Due to the surrounding powder, SLS can realise overhangs and complex features without support structures.
Unlike other 3D printing process, with selective laser sintering (SLS) you can stack multiple parts in the buisd chamber both horizontally and vertically, through the x, y, and z axes. This makes it an excellent choice for low-volume production.
At Radar MFG we offer a range of materials for SLS 3D printing. We have nylon or PA 12, a glass filled Nylon (PA + GF) and a TPU or rubber like material as well as PP. No matter if you want prototypes or production parts we can help.
Industrial SLS 3D printing is an excellent choice for creating strong and durable parts with great accuracy. It can build parts for some of the most demanding applications. This is due both to the process itslef which creates strong parts in all directions and also the choice of materials available.
The SLS parts are supported in the powder bed so there is no other support material required. This means SLS is capable of producing geometries that no other technology can giving you much greater design freedom.
SLS parts do not require expensive and time consuming tooling to be manufactured. The process is fast and can produce rapid prototypes and functional parts in as fast as 2 days. You can stack parts in the entire build chamber which allows you to manufacture more parts at one time. All of these things combine to mean SLS 3D printing is fast.
